They finally have their first date, a pandemic-era picnic in Central Park over Yoo-Hoo's and Kahlua. It was one of the hottest days of the year & Benji was right on-time as usual… JK he was super late & Nicolle almost left.
After months of corny texts…
Sept '20 - Feb '21
They enjoy exploring the UES while taking advantage of the new open container rules but, still have not had a meal inside a restaurant together. Thanks to remote working, they escape the city and discover their love for the Berkshires. Quickly becoming their most favorite getaway.
MAR '21
Benji moves into Nicolle's 5th floor walk-up on 91st & 2nd. He learns that an apartment can never have too many pieces of art or disco balls. They spent their nights enjoying meals on the unfinished roof while hearing bingo numbers called from down below.
MAY '21
Wyllie adopts his humans. This was perfect timing because Nicolle needed someone to go on walks with after Benji's achilles surgery.
Jul '23
In a grassy meadow overlooking the Hudson, hidden beneath a pile of freshly picked lavender was the heart shaped rock Nicolle had gifted Benji. The heart now painted red, adorned with "MArry ME?" Benji said something romantic on one knee (none of which Nicolle remembers) and in a retrofitted jewelry box given to Nicolle by her grandmother, was something sparkly! (shoutout to our hidden photographer Jesse, whose cover was nearly blown by an always on guard Wyllie)

Later that evening, instead of going on the camping trip Nicolle thought they were going on, the 2nd surprise of the evening was staying in a cozy treehouse. Nicolle even packed extra toilet paper for their weekend in the woods. She was relieved it was no longer needed.
MAY 2025
They decide to get married at their favorite art museum in the Berkshires, Mass MoCa.
